Welsh comedian and actor James is organizing a concert at the Grand Theatre in the city to support homeless charity Cyrene problems Cymru

TV star Rhod Gilbert is leading a series of comic featured bid to rescue troubled homeless charity Cyrene Cymru Swansea.

Born in Carmarthen funnyman Elis James, currently starring in BBC sitcom 3 Crims, has organized a charity night full of stars at the Grand Theatre in the city next month.

Proceeds from the evening - which will also feature games Lloyd Langford, Josh Widdicombe and Jon Richardson - go to Cyrene Cymru, which has been rocked by allegations of fraud resulting in arrests and charity they have to enter administration with a deficit of £ 800,000 in their accounts.

The alleged fraud has dozens of jobs at risk in charity and raises the prospect of homelessness desperate they have nowhere to turn for help in the depths of winter.

The charity evening will feature radio host 34-year-old James himself alongside the likes of Australian-born comedian and television presenter Adam Hills, panel favorite TV Josh Widdicombe, born in Port Talbot stand-up and TV and Radio regular guest Lloyd Langford, Never Mind the Buzzcocks host Gilbert, Carmarthen, and comedian Jon Richardson.

James - who is a former volunteer worker for the Homeless Link Cymru, now Cymorth Cymru - said the charity of Cyrene. "It is of vital importance for a large number of people still see some of the charity workers affected by this socially, so I have taken the characteristic entering concert promoting movement. I just felt I had to do something.

"Despite having what is probably the best bill on the planet, yet I'm terrified of not selling, and I've had anxiety dreams every night since the Great confirmed date.

"If this is what the developers feel like all the time, it's a miracle that none of them make 50.

"Service [due to problems Cyrenians'] that is larger threat is San Mateo, a center unique meeting that integrates homelessness to health care, which is compatible with a wide range of vulnerable and marginalized groups through Swansea.
"I started to ring all the famous people I know"

"It is vital for a lot of people and Conrad, director, had pushed for over 15 years. It opened when I was working there.

"Before I said that charity, because I did not get their hopes, as it was such a short time, I began to ring all the famous people I know to ask if they would like to perform.

"In a couple of days I had Rhod Gilbert, Josh Widdicombe, Jon Richardson, Adam Hills and Lloyd Langford confirmed and now have three weeks to sell 1,000 seats.

Drag queen, coach travel guide, trawlerman ... Rhod Gilbert tried all in its program of Work Experience:

"Running a concert takes more preparation and administration than I thought - I was on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 to promote Crims, and I was emailing Lloyd during the ad break by asking a shot release, when it really should have been talking to Matthew Wright on the English question.”

Local nonprofit organizations Gwalia, drop them and homestead, along with representatives from Swansea Council are now looking for ways to rescue Cyrene Cymru in an attempt to prevent their closure utilities and save as many jobs as possible.

Hopefully Gwalia may be able to act as an intermediary agent for income from donors, which could allow the services to continue while long-term arrangements are made.
"It's hard to tolerate Swansea devoid of compassion"

"As a group of organizations with similar missions, we are doing everything we can. Welsh Government has shown positive support too, but the decisions of donors and conversations with the administrator will be crucial," said CEO Gwalia Michael Williams.

He added:
"The services of Cyrene 'transforming lives through this city and it is difficult to tolerate Swansea devoid of compassion."

Tickets for the February 16 concert are priced at £ 22.50, with all acts give up their time for free.
